Omega Lottery Terms and Conditions

Introduction
  • Players joining the lottery must agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  • Omega reserves the right to amend this document without notice.
  • Omega is registered under the provisions of Regulation 3(1) (a) of the Small Society Lotteries (Registration of Non-Commercial Societies) Regulation 2007 with Shropshire County Council, Registration number 14/04471/SSLR.
Promoter
  • The lottery is promoted and managed by Omega, the National Association for End of Life Care, Registered Charity No.1120322, London House, Town Walls, Shrewsbury, SY1 1TX, 01743 245 088.
The monthly draw
  • The draw is conducted on the first working Wednesday of each month, to determine the previous month’s winner.
  • The winning numbered subscription is selected by a random electronic number generator.
  • The process is carried out in a prescribed way by a draw master and a scrutineer, or their nominated representatives.
  • If the draw master, and/or scrutineer or their nominated representatives are not available, the draw will take place on the next working day upon which they are available together.
Prizes
  • Prizes will be advertised in publicity material and on the Omega website: www.omega.uk.net.
  • Changes will be announced at least 7 days in advance.
  • The monthly cash jackpot is £50.
  • Additional prizes may become available at the discretion of the promoter.
Minimum cost of entry
  • The cost of each unique numbered lottery ticket is £12.
  • Each subscribed ticket will be entered in 12 consecutive monthly draws.
  • Players may subscribe to multiple tickets.
  • Omega must receive full payment and player contact details before a ticket is activated; activation confirms
    your agreement to be bound by the lottery terms and conditions.
  • Players will receive written confirmation of their participation in the lottery; players should contact Omega within 14 days if they do not receive this.
Methods of payment
  • Players can pay for tickets by cheque (made payable to Omega, the National Association for End of Life Care), postal order, standing order, cash or debit / credit card.
  • Please note that lottery subscriptions are not eligible for Gift Aid.
  • Omega will review and release details of any new payment options as they become available.
  • Omega reserves the right to reject a subscription application at its absolute discretion without giving reason.
Communication
  • Winners will be notified within 7 days of the draw.
  • Each winner’s ticket number, name and region (e.g. Shropshire) will be published on the Omega website, newsletters and other publicity material. The winner’s name may be omitted at that person’s request.
  • It is the player’s responsibility to notify Omega of any changes to their contact details.
  • In the event that Omega is unable to contact a winning player within 6 months, unclaimed prizes will be allocated to Omega funds and used for charitable purposes.
  • Omega cannot accept responsibility for any loss or delay of payment or communication from player to Omega pertaining to the lottery.
  • We will update you about aspects of our work from time to time.
Data protection
  • Data is held by Omega in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will not passed on or sold to any other organisations.
Renewal
  • Players will be invited to renew their tickets approximately 1 month before they expire (except players automatically renewing by standing order).
  • Expired tickets will be suspended for 2 weeks until payment is received and closed thereafter.
Cancellation
  • Players may cancel their subscriptions at any time and should notify Omega by post or email.
  • Players cancelling subscriptions will be refunded £1 for each full unused month remaining on their subscription period.
Self-exclusion
  • Anyone wishing to control their gambling may notify Omega in writing of their specific wish to be excluded
    from playing the lottery.
  • Exclusion requests will be held on record for a minimum of 6 months and entry / re-entry into the lottery will
    not be permitted during that time.
  • Anyone requesting exclusion may subsequently by denied entry into the lottery at Omega’s discretion and
    without giving reason.
Age restriction
  • Players must be aged 18 or over.
  • Omega may need to verify that the age, contact details and other identifying information provided by the player are correct; by subscribing, players are permitting Omega to do this.
Compliments and complaints
  • Any compliments and complaints received by Omega will be handled in accordance with the Omega Compliments and Complaints Procedure, a copy of which is available upon request.
Responsible gambling
  • The Omega lottery is a fundraising initiative by and for Omega, the National Association for End of Life Care.
  • Omega believes in responsible gambling.
  • If you are concerned about your gambling behaviour, please seek professional help. You may find it useful to approach Responsibility in Gambling Trust, an organisation promoting responsible gambling. Additional support for problem gambling can also be sought from Gamcare and Gambleaware.
